The item
Three squares: proven in human trials. Two: a strong signal. One: early human data. Striped: the trials disagree.
Start today
- Read the EPA and DHA total on your fish oil label tonight and cut back to a gram.
Why it works
EPA and DHA are built into cell membranes. They push out omega-6 fats and change how the receptors and channels in those membranes behave. DHA gathers in the brain and retina. The practical result is competition. They compete with arachidonic acid for the same enzymes. That shifts output toward less inflammatory signals and toward the molecules that actively end inflammation rather than just blocking it.
Where it fits
Omega-3 is a move in 12 protocols. Each one opens the plan it sits in.

“the omega-3 to omega-6 fatty-acid ratio has a profound effect on depression. It has a profound effect on mood”
“there is no evidence that people other than those with arrhythmia and chronic heart failure benefit from taking fish oil”
“An association between supplemental n3FA and increased risk of AFib seems likely to exist, but perhaps only for those already at significant risk for cardiovascular events.”

“omega 3 (from algae pills) and vitamin D3 + K2 seem to have improved my mood within a few weeks”
“After 1 month, my new number is 143. I did start walking 30 minutes 5 times per week and cut back on white carbs/sugar, but that is a big difference!”
“Three weeks later, my stomach will not settle. Everything I eat makes me feel 'too full', gassy, and nauseous, and there is nothing but (please pardon me) liquid for stools.”
