Nicotine
The lift in attention and reaction time lasts as long as the dose does, and the dependence outlasts both.
Also called 3-(1-methylpyrrolidin-2-yl)pyridine, (S)-Nicotine, Nicotine Polacrilex
Who it's forAny man running pouches or gum to focus at work.
The item
Three squares: proven in human trials. Two: a strong signal. One: early human data. Striped: the trials disagree.

- Take the tin out of your car tonight and leave one at your desk for deep work only.
Why it works
It binds nicotinic acetylcholine receptors spread across attention, memory, and reward circuits. That gives real effects on thinking. Through dopamine release in the reward pathway, it also causes dependence. The key point is to separate the drug from the smoke: the receptor effects are not what makes smoking lethal.
Where it fits
Nicotine is a move in 2 protocols. Each one opens the plan it sits in.
