When to see a doctor
- Your hematocrit is already high.
- You are planning children: therapy lowers sperm production, so fertility comes before anything else.
- You have sleep apnea that is severe and not yet treated.
- Your blood pressure is high or not controlled, or you take nitrate heart medicine.
- You have a history of heart disease, heart attack, stroke or liver disease.
- You are taking, or thinking of taking, any product that is not an approved medicine in the US.
- You are counting on therapy as contraception. The doctors' testosterone guideline uses a semen analysis to decide whether you still need contraception.
I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice. This is self-education. Every dose on this page is a dose a trial used, quoted from the trial, and it is not a prescription. Talk to a physician who has your bloodwork and your history before you change anything.
