Fade Your Stretch Marks
Stretch marks
Also called Striae, Gym stretch marks, Bulking stretch marks
Who it's forA man with stretch marks from a bulk, weight change or a growth spurt.
When to see a doctor
- Your doctor: large stretch marks with fat on the chest, belly or back of the neck, slim arms and legs, or a red, puffy, round face. These can be signs of Cushing's syndrome.
- Your doctor: symptoms of Cushing's syndrome while taking a steroid medicine.
- Your prescriber: marks that appear on steroid tablets or a steroid cream. Never stop steroid tablets suddenly after 3 weeks or at a high dose.
- Your doctor: you think you are addicted to anabolic steroids.
- Your doctor: marks with no growth spurt, bulk or weight change to explain them, if you are tall with long, slender arms, legs and fingers. It can be Marfan syndrome.
- A dermatologist, before microneedling or a laser: slow healing, a keloid scar, a weak immune system, skin cancer in the area, or isotretinoin in the last month.
I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice. This is self-education. Every dose and strength on this page is the one a trial or a label used, quoted from it. It is not a prescription. Tretinoin is licensed for acne, so it is off-label for stretch marks. Talk to a physician who has your history before any prescription medicine or procedure. Wide, purple marks with other body changes: see a doctor first.
