When to see a doctor
- Doing things you would never normally do to keep betting, such as lying to the people closest to you or taking what is not yours: get specialist help this week.
- Low mood, no interest or no enjoyment for most of the day, every day, for more than 2 weeks: see your doctor.
- Gambling urges that began or grew after starting a medicine for restless legs, Parkinson’s, psychosis, bipolar or depression: tell the prescriber. Do not stop it on your own.
- Drinking or drug use alongside the betting: tell the clinic, so both are treated together.
