Quitting weed
Also called Cannabis withdrawal, Quit smoking weed, Weed withdrawal, T-break
Who it's forA man who smokes weed every day, or near it, and wants to cut right down or stop.
When to see a doctor
- Hearing voices, seeing things that are not there, or feeling sure people are plotting against you: stop using and see your doctor today. If someone may be at risk, call 911 or go to the ER.
- Chest pain or a pounding heart after using, above all with heart disease: get checked urgently.
- Repeated bouts of vomiting and belly pain after long, heavy use, eased by hot showers or baths: see a doctor. It often needs medical care, and it only ends when cannabis stops completely.
- Using weed to manage low mood, anxiety or sleep: tell your doctor. Those get treated alongside, so stopping does not leave them bare.
- Drinking every day as well, and shaking, sweating or feeling nauseous when you cut down: alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous. See a doctor before you stop.
- A history of psychosis or schizophrenia in you or your family: tell the doctor before any medicine on this page.
I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice. This is self-education. Every dose on this page is the one a trial or a label used, quoted from the source. It is not a prescription. Talk to a physician who has your history before anything in the With a doctor group.
