When to see a doctor
  • Erection problems that keep happening, with a partner too: see your doctor or a sexual health clinic for a heart and hormone check.
  • Low mood, no interest or no enjoyment for most of the day, every day, for more than 2 weeks: see your doctor.
  • Worry you cannot control that affects your daily life: see your doctor.
  • Easily distracted, forgetful and never finishing tasks since childhood, affecting work, study or relationships: see your doctor about an ADHD assessment.
  • Trouble sleeping for months, or sleep so bad it is hard to cope, even after changing your habits: see your doctor.
  • New, intense sexual urges since starting a medicine for Parkinson’s or restless legs, such as pramipexole, or the antipsychotic aripiprazole: tell the prescriber. Do not stop it on your own.
  • Urges that come with a high, such as very little sleep, racing thoughts, a high sex drive and feeling unstoppable: see your doctor. That can be bipolar disorder.
  • Using stimulants or other drugs to have sex: see your doctor or a local drug service.

I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice. This is self-education. Every figure on this page is the one a study used, quoted from it. It is not a prescription. Talk to a professional who has your history before anything in the With a doctor group.
