When to see a doctor
  • Sudden confusion, a drooping face, a weak arm, slurred speech or trouble finding words: call 911.
  • Someone suddenly cannot think or speak clearly, or does not know where they are: call 911 or go to the ER. Do not drive yourself. If others at home feel unwell too, think carbon monoxide.
  • You have just hit your head and now have trouble understanding, speaking or with balance: call 911. A recent knock and other symptoms that worry you: call urgent care or your doctor today.
  • Fog with thirst, peeing more, tiredness or weight loss without trying: see urgent care or your doctor today.
  • Memory or thinking problems affecting your day-to-day life, or getting slowly worse: see your doctor.
  • Fog with numbness, pins and needles, weakness or poor balance: see your doctor, for B12.
  • Low mood for most of the day, every day, for more than 2 weeks: see your doctor.
  • Fog that started with COVID and has lasted more than 12 weeks: see your doctor.
  • Fog with fevers, soaking night sweats, or weight loss for no reason: see your doctor.
  • Loud snoring, stopping breathing or gasping in sleep, or always very tired in the day: see your doctor.
