When to see a doctor
- Call 911 or go to the ER now: a hot, red, swollen leg or foot with a very high temperature, shivering, a fast heartbeat or breathing, purple patches, dizziness or confusion.
- Call 911 now: lips, mouth, throat or tongue swelling, or struggling to breathe, after a cream or tablet.
- Urgent care or your doctor today: skin on the foot or leg that is painful, hot and swollen. Contact a doctor right away, especially with red streaks, pus or a fever.
- Stop the tablets and call the doctor or urgent care now: yellow skin or eyes, pale poop and dark pee, while on terbinafine.
- Your doctor: athlete's foot or a fungal nail with diabetes or a weakened immune system.
- Your doctor: pharmacy treatment has not worked, a lot of pain, the rash spreads to the hands, or the nail infection spreads to other nails.
- Your doctor: not better in 2 to 4 weeks on the feet, or 2 weeks on the groin.
I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice. This is self-education. Every dose on this page is the one a trial or a label used, quoted from it. It is not a prescription. Talk to a physician who has your history before any medicine or procedure. A hot, swollen leg, a fever, or diabetes: see a doctor first.
