When to see a doctor
- On the drug for type 2 diabetes, or your sugar was high before it: never stop without your doctor. Very tired, peeing more, thirsty all the time or losing weight without trying: see your doctor.
- On it after a heart attack or stroke, or for sleep apnea or liver disease: stopping is a decision for your doctor, because the drug treats those too.
- Weight climbing fast despite the plan, or you take steroids, antidepressants or beta blockers, or have a thyroid problem: speak to your doctor.
- Worrying about your weight or body shape a lot of the time, or eating in secret: see your doctor soon.
- Breathing that stops and starts in your sleep, gasping, and tired all day: see your doctor about sleep apnea.
- Severe pain in your stomach or back that does not go away while on the drug: stop it and get seen that day. It can be pancreatitis.
